MyURemote is a universal remote control application that allows users to control compatible devices such as TVs, AV receivers, and media devices over their local network. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal data.

2. Data We Collect

2.1 Account Information

If you create an account, we store your user ID and login credentials in our secure backend system (CakePHP + MySQL). Passwords are encrypted/scrambled and are never stored in plain text.

2.2 Device Configuration Data

Your device configuration, remote layouts, macros, and settings may be stored securely on our servers to allow synchronization and backup functionality.

2.3 Local Network Data

MyURemote requires Local Network permission to discover and communicate with devices on your home network (such as TVs and media devices). This communication happens directly between your mobile device and your local devices via a local proxy (localhost gateway). No device traffic is routed through our cloud servers during normal remote control operation.

3. What We Do NOT Collect

• We do not use in-app analytics.
• We do not use advertising SDKs.
• We do not use crash reporting services such as Firebase Crashlytics or Sentry.
• We do not track your device usage behavior for marketing purposes.

4. Website Analytics

Our website (www.myuremote.com) may use analytics tools for website traffic analysis. This is separate from the mobile application.

5. How We Use Your Data

Your data is used solely for:

• Providing remote control functionality
• Managing user accounts
• Synchronizing configurations
• Improving compatibility with supported devices

6. Data Storage & Security

All server-stored data is secured using standard industry security practices. Passwords are encrypted and not stored in readable form. Communication between the app and servers uses HTTPS encryption.

7. Local Device Communication

Remote control commands are executed locally within your home network through a local gateway architecture. Your device commands are not transmitted to third parties.
