\n Panasonic TV control\n <\/h1>\n

\n MyURemote supports several Panasonic TV platforms over the local network.\n Depending on the model and generation, Panasonic TVs may use\n classic VIERA NRC<\/strong>,\n encrypted NRC<\/strong>,\n or the Vestel SmartCenter<\/strong> protocol.\n <\/p>\n <\/header>\n\n

Overview<\/h2>\n\n

\n Panasonic has used different hardware and software platforms across its TV ranges.\n Because of this, not every Panasonic TV uses the same IP control protocol.\n <\/p>\n\n

\n MyURemote currently supports three Panasonic control profiles:\n <\/p>\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n

Panasonic TV profiles<\/h2>\n\n\n \n
\n\n

\n 1) Panasonic VIERA \u2013 classic NRC\n <\/h3>\n\n
    \n
  • Protocol: Panasonic Network Remote Control (NRC)<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Transport: HTTP \/ SOAP<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Default port: 55000<\/strong><\/li>\n
  • Technology in MyURemote: IP<\/strong><\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n

    \n Many older VIERA models support Panasonic NRC directly over the network.\n Commands are sent as remote-control key events using SOAP requests.\n These TVs normally do not require PIN pairing.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n

    \n\n

    \n 2) Panasonic VIERA \/ My Home Screen 6+ \u2013 encrypted NRC\n <\/h3>\n\n
      \n
    • Protocol: Panasonic NRC (encrypted)<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Transport: HTTP + AES\/HMAC encrypted payload<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • Default port: 55000<\/strong><\/li>\n
    • PIN pairing required<\/li>\n
    • Status: experimental \/ under development<\/strong><\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n

      \n Newer My Home Screen models use an encrypted version of Panasonic NRC.\n Before commands can be sent, the TV must be paired using a PIN displayed on the TV.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n\n \n

      \n 3) Panasonic Vestel platform\n <\/h3>\n\n
        \n
      • Protocol: Vestel SmartCenter<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Transport: HTTP<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Default port: 56789<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • Technology in MyURemote: IP<\/strong><\/li>\n
      • No PIN pairing required<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n

        \n Some Panasonic TVs are based on the Vestel platform and do not use Panasonic NRC.\n These models are controlled through the Vestel SmartCenter interface instead.\n <\/p>\n\n

        \n This profile has been tested successfully with the\n Panasonic TX-49GX623E<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n

        Which profile should I use?<\/h2>\n\n
        \n\n
          \n\n
        • \n If your Panasonic TV supports classic\n Network Remote Control<\/strong> on port 55000<\/strong>,\n select the classic VIERA profile.\n <\/li>\n\n
        • \n If the TV requires a PIN before network remote commands can be used,\n select the VIERA \/ My Home Screen 6+<\/strong> profile.\n <\/li>\n\n
        • \n If the TV is based on the Vestel platform,\n select the Vestel<\/strong> profile.\n These TVs normally use port 56789<\/strong>.\n <\/li>\n\n <\/ul>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n
          \n\n

          Network connection<\/h2>\n\n

          \n The TV and the device running MyURemote must be connected to the same local network.\n A wired Ethernet connection or normal Wi-Fi connection can be used.\n <\/p>\n\n

          • Encrypted NRC: TCP port 55000<\/strong><\/li>\n

            First-time use<\/h2>\n\n
            \n\n

            \n During initial setup the TV should be\n powered on<\/strong> and connected to the network.\n <\/p>\n\n

            \n Enter the TV’s IP address in MyURemote and select the correct Panasonic profile.\n <\/p>\n\n

            \n Only encrypted NRC models require PIN pairing.\n Classic VIERA and Vestel models do not normally require pairing.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n

            \n\n

            PIN pairing \u2013 encrypted NRC models<\/h2>\n\n

            \n If the Panasonic model requires encrypted NRC, MyURemote displays a pairing interface.\n <\/p>\n\n

            1. Click Show PIN on TV<\/strong><\/li>\n
            2. A PIN appears on the TV<\/li>\n
            3. Enter the PIN in MyURemote<\/li>\n
            4. Click Pair<\/strong><\/li>\n <\/ol>\n\n

              \n After successful pairing, the required authentication information is stored\n so the TV does not need to be paired again during normal use.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n

              \n\n

              Vestel-based Panasonic TVs<\/h2>\n\n

              \n Some Panasonic models use Vestel electronics and software instead of Panasonic’s\n traditional VIERA NRC platform.\n <\/p>\n\n

              \n These TVs use the Vestel SmartCenter<\/strong> control interface on\n TCP port 56789<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n

              \n\n

              \n MyURemote can send standard remote-control functions such as:\n <\/p>\n\n

                \n
              • Power<\/li>\n
              • Volume Up \/ Down<\/li>\n
              • Mute<\/li>\n
              • Channel Up \/ Down<\/li>\n
              • Navigation Up \/ Down \/ Left \/ Right<\/li>\n
              • OK<\/li>\n
              • Back<\/li>\n
              • Home \/ Menu<\/li>\n
              • Source \/ Input<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n

                Power On \/ Wake-on-LAN<\/h2>\n\n

                \n Network power-on behaviour differs between Panasonic models.\n <\/p>\n\n

                \n\n
                  \n
                • Power Off<\/strong> can normally be sent through the active control protocol.<\/li>\n
                • Power On<\/strong> may require Wake-on-LAN depending on the TV.<\/li>\n
                • The TV must keep its network interface active while in standby for Wake-on-LAN to work.<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n <\/div>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n
                  \n\n

                  Troubleshooting<\/h2>\n\n\n

                  TV does not respond<\/h3>\n\n
                    \n
                  • Verify the configured IP address<\/strong><\/li>\n
                  • Make sure the TV and MyURemote are on the same LAN<\/li>\n
                  • Check that guest Wi-Fi or client isolation is not enabled<\/li>\n
                  • Verify that the correct Panasonic profile is selected<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n\n

                    Port 55000 does not respond<\/h3>\n\n

                    \n This does not necessarily mean the Panasonic TV cannot be controlled.\n Some Panasonic models use the Vestel SmartCenter<\/strong> platform instead.\n <\/p>\n\n

                    \n Try the Panasonic Vestel<\/strong> profile using port 56789<\/strong>.\n <\/p>\n\n\n

                    Pairing fails<\/h3>\n\n
                      \n
                    • Pairing is only required for encrypted NRC models<\/li>\n
                    • Click Show PIN on TV<\/strong> before entering the PIN<\/li>\n
                    • Use the PIN currently displayed on the TV<\/li>\n <\/ul>\n\n\n

                      Panasonic TV Remote app cannot find the TV<\/h3>\n\n

                      \n This can occur on Panasonic models based on a different platform such as Vestel.\n Try the MyURemote Vestel<\/strong> profile instead.\n <\/p>\n\n <\/section>\n\n\n \n
