Compatibility

MyURemote is a universal control platform for Audio/Video and Domotics. It can control devices using Infrared (IR), Serial, and modern IP-based protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP / REST and WebSockets.

This page explains how compatibility works and lists supported devices. If you’re an installer/integrator: this is the reference page you’ll use most.

1. How compatibility works in MyURemote

MyURemote is not limited to one ecosystem or one protocol. It acts as a local control gateway and abstracts device communication into a predictable interface. Whether a device is controlled by IR, Serial or IP, your MyURemote interface stays uniform.

Audio/Video
  • TVs & projectors
  • AV receivers & amplifiers
  • Streamers & set-top boxes
  • Multiroom audio systems
Domotics
  • Lights & dimmers
  • Shutters / screens
  • Scenes & automation
  • Platforms & gateways

2. Devices vs Controllers (very important)

In MyURemote, it’s essential to distinguish between:

Devices

The end products you actually want to control: TVs, receivers, streamers, lights, blinds, etc.

Controllers

Intermediaries that translate or orchestrate control. Examples: Global Caché (IR/Serial) and Home Assistant (domotics entities, scenes, logic).

Some devices can be controlled directly over IP. Others require a controller (IR/Serial) or a platform controller (domotics).

3. Quick links

Devices that require no controller (Direct IP control)

These devices can be controlled directly over the network using TCP/IP, HTTP/REST or WebSockets. No IR blaster, no serial adapter, and no Global Caché is required. You only need the device IP address on your LAN.

Supported IP devices

This list is generated from the public database (technology = IP).

Devices that require a controller (IR / Serial)

These devices do not support direct IP control. They require a controller that translates network commands into infrared (IR) or serial (RS232/TTL) communication. In most installations, this means a Global Caché controller.

Infrared (IR)

  • IR devices require an IR controller and selecting the correct IR output port.
  • Ideal for legacy AV devices without network control.

Serial (RS232 / TTL)

  • Serial devices require a network serial controller and correct wiring/settings.
  • Some brands (e.g., specific Bose generations) have unique serial requirements.

Supported controller-based devices

This list is generated from the public database (technology ≠ IP).

Domotics controllers (platform integrations)

Domotics platforms can also act as “controllers”: they sit between the MyURemote interface and the devices you actually operate. MyURemote can integrate with platforms such as Home Assistant to control lights, covers, scenes and more.

Home Assistant

MyURemote can send commands and read feedback from Home Assistant entities. This enables a unified AV + domotics interface and powerful macro workflows.

Additional domotics integrations (KNX, Hue, etc.) can be documented in their brand/system pages.
