What the technology column means
IP
The device can be controlled directly over your network. No extra hardware controller is required. This is common for many modern devices and platforms such as Samsung TVs, LG TVs, Sony devices, Home Assistant and other network-enabled products.
Controller
The device is typically controlled through hardware or an intermediate control layer, such as IR or Serial via Global Caché or a similar controller.
Why this matters
Some devices can be added and controlled directly. Others require an extra controller between MyURemote and the device.
One combined list
This page brings direct IP devices, controller-based devices and compatible integrations together in a single searchable overview.
How MyURemote works
MyURemote keeps the user interface simple, even when the technology behind it is not. In many setups, there are three layers involved:
1. The app
This is the interface you use on your phone or tablet. It lets you switch rooms, start activities, press buttons and control your setup in a simple way.
2. The controller
A controller is the layer that sends the real commands. Sometimes this is a direct software integration over IP. In other cases it uses hardware such as Global Caché for IR and Serial control, or platforms such as Home Assistant for broader automation.
3. The device
This is the product you want to control: a TV, projector, receiver, streamer, light, blind or smart home device from brands such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Yamaha, Pioneer, Bose or Sonos.
In simple terms, the structure is: App → Controller → Device. Sometimes the controller is a direct software integration, and sometimes it is a hardware controller.
Devices and controllers
Devices
These are the products you actually want to operate: TVs, projectors, amplifiers, receivers, streamers, lights, screens and other smart home devices.
Controllers
These are the systems that help MyURemote talk to devices. Examples are Global Caché for IR and Serial, or platforms such as Home Assistant that expose lights, scenes and entities.
Why this matters
Some products can be controlled directly. Others need an extra controller in between. The compatibility list helps you see which is which.
Works with both modern and classic equipment
Many modern TVs, receivers and streamers support direct IP control over your local network. That includes many systems around Samsung, LG, Sony, Google TV, Android TV, Yamaha, Sonos and Home Assistant.
Older equipment can still be integrated through IR or Serial, often using hardware such as Global Caché. That means MyURemote is useful for both modern installations and mixed AV setups that combine older and newer devices.
What you can bring together
Audio / Video
Control TVs and AV equipment from brands such as Samsung, LG, Sony, Pioneer, Yamaha and Bose, together with streamers and media platforms such as Google TV, Android TV and Kodi.
Lighting
Add lighting control to activities such as Watch TV or Movie Night using systems such as Hue and KNX.
Smart home platforms
Integrate platforms such as Home Assistant and Global Caché, and bring more of the room into one interface together with Sonos and other compatible network-controlled devices.
