1. Start with device discovery (recommended)

When the MyURemote app runs on iOS or Android, it automatically performs a network discovery process. This discovery scans your local network and detects devices that can potentially be controlled.

The system uses technologies such as DLNA discovery and other network identification methods. Even devices that are not directly recognized can often still be matched with compatible control profiles from the MyURemote device database.

During discovery, the app will show possible devices found on your network. You can simply select the ones you want to use and they will automatically be prepared inside your configuration environment.

2. Automatic detection of controllers

Network controllers such as Global Caché devices are detected automatically. Once discovered, they immediately become available inside the configuration panel for controlling IR or serial devices.

This makes it very easy to start from scratch without having to manually configure network controllers or connection details.

3. Discovery takes about two minutes

The discovery process typically takes around two minutes. During this time the app scans the network and queries the device database to determine which control profiles may apply to the detected hardware.

Once the scan is complete and you have selected the devices you want to use, those devices become immediately available in the configuration system.

4. Continue configuration on your computer

After discovery, many users prefer to continue configuration on a computer because the larger screen makes it easier to create zones, inputs and macros.

5. Synchronizing changes to your tablet or phone

All configuration changes are stored online. Whenever you modify your configuration in the web interface and save it, the updated configuration can immediately be loaded in the mobile app.

Simply press the refresh button at the bottom of the MyURemote interface on your tablet or smartphone. The app will reload the full configuration and apply the changes instantly.

This workflow allows you to:

• Continue adjusting the configuration until everything works perfectly

Typical workflow

1. Open the MyURemote app on a tablet or smartphone
2. Wait about two minutes for device discovery
3. Select the devices you want to use
4. Open the Configuration Panel on your computer
5. Create zones, inputs and macros
6. Press refresh in the mobile app to load the updated configuration
